Every student at the school is provided with opportunities to make progress in every aspect of their development, enabling them to be the best they can be. We hold high expectations of all students and ensure that all staff provide quality first teaching which allows all students to learn effectively. Members of staff understand that they are all teachers of students with special educational needs or they are support staff who work with students with special needs. More information about how we support students with SEND can be found here in our SEND policy and report.

Curriculum

The information below outlines the key features of our curriculum strategy. If you would like further information, please see the curriculum section of the website.

Admissions

Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. An exceptional educational experience is the best foundation for the next stage in every child’s life. Trinitarians are the graduates, leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow and school life is designed to prepare them for this.

Each autumn we hold our annual Open Evening, which is your opportunity to visit the school and meet our staff and students. We also offer Open Mornings to allow you to see the school in action. These will be publicised on our website and Facebook page.

Applications to The Trinity School for Year 7 are made through the Essex County Council Common Application Form (CAF) while your child is in Year 6. After their Year 7 September term begins, applications should be made through the mid-year applications process at outlined below.

Mid-year applications

You are welcome to make a mid-year application for your secondary age child at any time. Please complete the mid-year application form below, MYA form 2025-2026 and send it to admissions@thetrinityschool.co.uk.

Please read the Admissions policy carefully. If you have any questions after this we would be happy to help. You can contact our Admissions Officer on the school switchboard or via admissions@thetrinityschool.co.uk

How to find The Trinity School on the Essex County Council Common Application Form (CAF)

We understand from some prospective parents that it is not easy to find The Trinity School on the Essex CAF form. The Essex School Admissions team have given the following advice.

They usually recommend using part of the school name when searching and not the full name or postcode, e.g. enter The Trinity in the school name search box and nothing else in any of the other boxes.

However, in this instance, you can search using part of the school name and postcode CO4 6ED which will bring up The Trinity School (Colchester).

You can also use the “I still cannot find my school” button, then enter the postcode given above, which brings up The Trinity School.

If you still require help, please contact admissions@essex.gov.uk
